Introduction to Blackboard

When you first log in to Blackboard, the My MEC home page appears.

This page is unique to you and displays a composite list of information from any courses you are enrolled in and the relevant information for that particular day. The My MEC page has five main components:
The Navigation Buttons provide one-click access to the home page, the help page, and the logout button

The Tools Area stores the items you can use to customize, modify and manage your My MEC page.

The Module Area is the main area to the right of the tools box that displays the announcements, calendar items, and a variety of other information.
The Navigation Tabs are used to navigate between segments of the software.

The Search Box is below the tools box and provides a way to search for information on the web.
My Announcements
Displays all of today's announcements from all of your courses.
My Calendar
Displays any institutional, personal, or course calendar events for today. Clicking on the event title will open the event.
My Courses
Displays all courses you are enrolled in. Clicking on a course title allows you to enter the course.
My Organizations
My Organizations is not yet available. When it is made available, it will display a list of campus organizations you have joined, and allow you to join other organizations.
My Tasks
Displays all personal and course tasks that are due today.
Quick Tutorials
Provides users with online movie tutorials on the respective Blackboard features.
